Minister of Music

Georgeann (Gigi) Paddock has given numerous performances both in the United States and abroad. She holds music degrees from Indiana University/Bloomington and from Lutheran Theological Seminary, St. Paul, with further study at the Nürnberg Musikonservatorium.

As a professional soprano, concert performances include St. Paul, Omaha, Hong Kong, New York, Nürnberg, Munich, London, and, in 2006, premiered a new opera in Washington D.C. at the George Washington University Friday Music Series. Locally she has appeared as a soloist with the Virginia Opera, Virginia Symphony, Williamsburg Choral Guild, Virginia Choral Society, Richmond Choral Society, Cantata Chorus, Art Song of Williamsburg, and has presented chamber concerts at University of Nebraska/Omaha, Christopher Newport University, Old Dominion University, University of Richmond, and the College of William and Mary.

She has particularly enjoyed presenting historical music with the Nürnberg Meistersingers, Munich Bach Orchestra, Colonial Williamsburg, Peter Pelham Concert Series at Bruton Parish, Norfolk’s Cavalier Consort, Capriole, and the Bach Festival in Washington D.C. She has sung under the batons of Leonard Bernstein, Jan DeGaetani, Norman Luboff, Robert Page, Joann Falletta, Judy Clurman, and Bernt Dietrich.

In addition to performance, Gigi has coached voice and conducted for two decades. She served as Artist-in-Residence at Luther Seminary, Hong Kong, teaching voice and performing chamber music. She worked as a civil servant "music specialist" with the U.S. Army in Europe directing award-winning musicals and talent shows. She has served in numerous churches as accompanist, director, and arranger for adults and children's groups. She has published a collection of hymn arrangements and children’s songs as well as recorded archival and commercial projects.

Gigi actively supports arts in the public schools and encourages parents to insist on the presence of music and art in their communities.
